Delete Your Account

Last updated: September 12, 2026

This page explains how to delete your Famick Home Management account and the data that belongs to it, what is removed, what we keep and for how long, and how to ask us to delete it if you can no longer sign in.

It covers accounts on Famick Cloud — the web app at app.famick.com and the Famick mobile apps signed in to it. If you run Famick on your own server, your data lives only on that server; removing the server or its database removes it, and we hold no copy to delete.

1. The fastest way: delete it yourself

You do not need to contact us.

Deleting your account is built into Famick, and it takes effect the same way whichever client you use.

Go to your profile
  • In the web app: sign in at app.famick.com, open the account menu at the top right, choose Profile, then Delete account at the bottom of the page.
  • In the mobile app: open Profile → Security, then Delete Account.

You will be asked to confirm. Most people who reach this page already have access and simply could not find that screen — if that is you, nothing below is needed.

2. What a deletion destroys depends on who asks

A household is shared, so one person leaving must never take away what everyone else has contributed.

  • If you are an administrator of the household, deleting your account deletes the household itself — including every other member, who will lose access and everything they have added. The app tells you this, and names the household, before you confirm.
  • If you are a member, only your own account goes: your sign-in, any linked Google or Apple login, your passkeys, your sessions, your roles and permissions. The household carries on without you, and what you added to it stays for the others. If the household holds a contact card for you, that card belongs to the household and remains.

3. Thirty days to change your mind

Nothing is deleted straight away. A deletion request records the date it will happen and gives you 30 days to call it off — simply signing in again during that time cancels it, and nothing is lost.

We email you when a deletion is scheduled, again three days before it happens, and once it is done. When an administrator deletes a household, every member is emailed, not only the administrator — for the others it is the only warning they get, and they cannot cancel it.

After the 30 days, the deletion runs and is permanent. It cannot be undone or recovered.

4. What is deleted

When a household deletion runs, everything belonging to that household is removed from our live systems:

  • Household data — inventory and stock levels, shopping lists, recipes, chores and todos, equipment and maintenance records, vehicles, storage bins, and the documents and notes attached to any of them.
  • Calendar data — events, recurrence rules, reminders, participation, and any external calendar subscriptions.
  • Contacts — contact records, relationships, groups, tags, profile images, and the contact audit log.
  • Uploaded files — product images, equipment and vehicle documents, storage-bin photos and recipe images are deleted from our file storage.
  • Accounts and sign-in — user records, password credentials, linked Google and Apple logins, passkeys, active sessions and refresh tokens, roles and permissions.
  • Your encryption key — each household's files are encrypted with a key of its own. That key is destroyed seven days after the deletion runs, which makes any copy of those files unreadable from then on.

If the household has a paid subscription, it is cancelled as part of the deletion. See the Refund Policy for how billing is handled when you cancel.

5. What is kept, and for how long

A few things outlive the deletion. We would rather say so here than let you discover it later.

  • Billing records. Subscription and payment history is kept for financial and tax record-keeping, and to handle any dispute or chargeback that arrives after the account is gone. It records what was charged and when; it is not your household content. We never hold your card number — payments are handled by a third-party processor, as described in the Privacy Policy.
  • Aggregated usage counters. Numbers such as how much storage a household used, kept for the same record-keeping reasons.
  • Encrypted database backups. Backups are taken on a rolling schedule and expire automatically within 14 days. A backup taken before your deletion still contains your data until it rolls off.
  • Superseded copies in file storage. Our file storage keeps previous versions of an object for a time as protection against accidental deletion. Those copies expire automatically within 180 days, and are unreadable once your household's encryption key is destroyed.
  • Messages you have sent us. Email you send to our support or privacy addresses — including a deletion request made through the form below — stays in that mailbox as the record of the request.
  • Anything the law requires us to keep, for as long as it requires it.

6. If you cannot sign in

If you have lost access to your account — you cannot sign in, or you removed the app without deleting the account first — we will do it for you.

Request account deletion

Send the request from the email address on the account. We will verify that the address matches the account, and may email that address to confirm, before deleting anything: we cannot take an unverified stranger's word for destroying someone's household.

Please include:

  • The email address on the Famick account.
  • The household name, if you know it.
  • Whether you want your account only or the whole household deleted. If you are not an administrator, only your own account can be removed.

We respond within 30 days, and usually far sooner. A deletion we schedule on your behalf carries the same 30-day grace period described above — signing in before it runs still cancels it.
