Privacy Policy
Effective Date: February 19, 2026
Famick Services LLC ("Famick," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Famick Home Management platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our services.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address, name, and household name. If you sign in using Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from those services.
Usage Data
We automatically collect information about how you interact with our services, including pages visited, features used, and actions taken. This data is used in aggregate to improve our product.
User-Submitted Content
We store the content you create within Famick to provide our services. This includes:
- Household data: Inventory items, shopping lists, chore schedules, todo items, equipment records, vehicle information, storage bins, recipes, and any other data you enter to manage your household.
- Calendar data: Events including titles, descriptions, locations, start and end times, recurrence rules, reminders, color labels, event member participation, and scheduling availability.
- Contact data: Names, company information, phone numbers, email addresses, mailing addresses, birth and death dates (with variable date precision), gender, social media profiles (usernames and URLs across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, and others), relationships between contacts (family, professional, social, and other categories), profile images, notes, tags, and group membership.
Contact Audit Information
When contact records are created, modified, or deleted, Famick automatically logs the action along with the user who performed it, a timestamp, IP address, and browser user agent. This audit information is collected for security and accountability purposes and is accessible to household administrators.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain our services
- Process your account registration and manage your subscription
- Send you service-related communications (account verification, security alerts, billing notices)
- Respond to your support requests and inquiries
- Analyze usage patterns in aggregated, anonymous form to improve our product
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues and security threats
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your household data for advertising purposes.
3. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We use essential cookies to maintain your session and keep you logged in. We may use analytics tools to understand how our service is used. These tools collect anonymized usage data and do not track you across other websites.
You can control cookie settings through your browser. Disabling essential cookies may prevent you from using some features of our service.
4. Payment Information
Payment processing is handled by third-party payment processors. We do not store your credit card numbers or payment credentials on our servers. Our payment processors comply with PCI-DSS standards.
5. Third-Party Integrations
Famick integrates with third-party services to enhance your experience. These integrations are optional and initiated by you.
Store Integrations (e.g., Kroger)
When you connect a store integration, you authorize Famick to access the store's API on your behalf using OAuth authentication. Through this connection:
- Data we send: Product search queries, barcode lookups, and shopping cart operations you initiate
- Data we receive: Product names, pricing, availability, aisle locations, and store location information
- How we use it: To display store-specific product information within your Famick account and to help you manage your shopping lists
- Data retention: Product data from store APIs is cached temporarily and expires automatically. We do not build permanent databases of store product information.
The store provider may monitor API usage in accordance with their own terms of service and privacy policy. We recommend reviewing the store's privacy policy when connecting an integration.
Product Lookup Services
Famick uses product databases to help identify items by barcode or name:
- USDA FoodData Central: We send product barcodes or search terms to retrieve nutritional information. No personal or household data is transmitted.
- Open Food Facts: We send product barcodes to retrieve product details. No personal or household data is transmitted.
Gravatar
Famick can display profile images for contacts using Gravatar, a service operated by Automattic. When enabled:
- Data transmitted: An MD5 hash of the contact's email address is sent to gravatar.com to retrieve a profile image. The email address itself is not transmitted — only its hash.
- Enabled by default: Gravatar lookups are enabled by default for new contacts but can be disabled on a per-contact basis.
- Third-party policy: Gravatar is subject to Automattic's Privacy Policy.
External Calendar Subscriptions
Famick can subscribe to external calendar feeds (ICS format) from providers such as Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, or Apple Calendar. When you add an external calendar subscription:
- How it works: Famick periodically fetches the ICS feed from the URL you provide (by default, approximately every 60 minutes).
- Data we store: Event titles, start and end times, and all-day status only. We do not import event descriptions, locations, or attendee information from external feeds.
- Automatic cleanup: Events removed from the external feed are automatically deleted from Famick during the next sync.
- No outbound data: Famick does not transmit any of your data to external calendar providers during sync. The connection is read-only.
- External provider visibility: The external calendar provider may log access requests from Famick's servers in accordance with their own privacy policies.
You can modify or delete external calendar subscriptions at any time from your calendar settings.
Calendar Feed Export (ICS)
Famick allows you to generate ICS feed URLs so that external calendar applications (such as Google Calendar, Outlook, or Apple Calendar) can subscribe to your Famick calendar.
- Data exposed: Event titles, descriptions, locations, start and end times, recurrence rules, reminders, and participating member names and email addresses are included in the feed.
- Token-based access: Each feed URL contains a unique token that grants read access to your calendar data without requiring authentication. Treat your feed URL like a password — anyone who has it can read your calendar data.
- Multiple tokens: You can create multiple feed tokens and revoke any of them individually at any time from your account settings.
- Fetch frequency: The external calendar application controls how often it fetches your feed, not Famick.
You can disconnect any store integration at any time from your account settings. Product lookup services can be disabled by an administrator from the Settings page. Gravatar lookups can be disabled on individual contacts. External calendar subscriptions can be modified or deleted at any time. Calendar feed export tokens can be revoked individually from your account settings. We do not share your household data, shopping lists, calendar events, contact information, or other personal information with these third-party services for advertising or marketing purposes.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Calendar events, contact records, and contact audit logs are retained while your account is active or until you delete them. External calendar subscription data is automatically updated and removed during sync cycles; events removed from the external source are deleted from Famick.
If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it. Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained indefinitely for analytics purposes.
7. Background Processing
Famick runs background services to support certain features:
- Calendar reminders: A background service checks periodically for upcoming events and sends notifications to participating household members.
- External calendar sync: A background service periodically fetches subscribed external calendar feeds (ICS) and imports, updates, or removes events based on the external source.
These services process data only within the scope of your household. No data is shared across households or tenants during background processing.
8. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:
- Data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2+
- Data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 with per-tenant encryption keys
- Per-tenant data isolation ensures your household data is separated from other users
- Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
While we take reasonable precautions, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
Our service is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@famick.com and we will delete that information promptly.
10. California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect and how it is used
- Delete your personal information
- Opt out of the sale of your personal information
- Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights
We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at privacy@famick.com.
11. International Users
Our services are hosted and processed in the United States. If you access our services from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
12. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us. We will respond to your request within 30 days. You may also export your data from within the application at any time.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on our website and, where appropriate, sending you an email notification. Your continued use of our services after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
